VMGUS is open to everyone with different types of membership.

1. General Member
For those who are interested in learning medical English and medical knowledge. This membership is open to anyone and has no requirements. Vietnamese junior medical students (1st, 2nd, and 3rd year) are encouraged to join this membership. U.S. premedical students are encouraged to join this membership as well.

2. Resident Member
For those who are seriously about getting into US residency. There are some requirements for this type of membership included name of medical school, years of study medicine, and mandatory attendance at study group. A detail of requirement is in our main forum.

Member of this type graduated or will graduate from the following medical schools in Vietnam

1. Can Tho University Medical School
2. Ho Chi Minh University of Pharmacy and Medicine
3. Hue University Medical School
4. Ha Noi Medical University
5. Hai Phong Medical School
6. Military Medical University
7. Tay Nguyen University Medical School
8. Thai Nguyen University Medical School
9. Thai Binh Medical School
10. Ho Chi Minh City Medical Staff Training Center

Members should be in their final years in medical schools (4th, 5th or 6th year) or recent graduates (less than 10 years). For those who graduated more than 10 years, please contact us for further information.

U.S. MD or DO students are strongly encouraged to join this membership since they have to take step 1 and 2 anyway for residencies.

3. Advisor Member
For practicing physicians, resident physicians, MD or DO students, or scientists who advise VMGUS on professional subjects. There are some specific requirements for this type of member.
1. Must pass at least one Step in USMLE sequence Steps.
2. Must be fluent medical English (fluent in Vietnamese is a plus).

4. Administrator Member
For those who run VMGUS program. This type of membership is through invitation from VMGUS board only.
